I have a few fun announcements:
Toilets to Tenants, a Landlord meetup group in Denver, asked me to come do a Q&A at their next event! Their events are free and open to the public. We will be discussing local Denver Short Term Rental laws, pros and cons to listing your home on Airbnb, whether or not to use a management company - like myself, etc.
Here are the details:
Tuesday December 4th at 6:30 PM
955 Eudora Street, Denver, CO 80220.
*This is a large condo building and we meet in the conference room located in the lobby. The meeting is from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
I would love to see you all there! Feel free to comment below or email through the website if you have any questions about the event. I always try to stay late to answer one on one questions as well.
Second order of business: My latest interview on the Travel Hacking Podcast — Extra Pack of Peanuts went live a few days ago! This is a fun two part series; Part 1 being more of an intro for the new host who is curious or just getting started hosting and Part 2 is a more in depth view of the nitty gritty questions that hosts come up against over time in the world of Airbnb. The second podcast goes live in a week so stay tuned on Extra Pack of Peanuts, my Facebook page, and/or under the Podcasts section on my site. I don’t usually announce new interviews here in the blog so that is a great place to check =).
As you will hear me say time and again is if you are thinking about getting into Vacation Rental hosting, the best way to start is just to start! What do I mean? We learn a lot from doing. Sign up with Airbnb and begin building out your listing. Start with basic photos and then play around with staging and editing. There are so many wonderfully creative facets of this business and so many of us just learn by playing and exploring. You won’t know if its for you unless you give it a try.
One of my favorite things is hearing the success stories from my readers, if you have one, please share it in the comments.
*We may receive affiliate payouts from companies shown on the blog. If you want to support our site, please use our links before setting up your next listing on Airbnb. We get promotions for host accounts that have 5 or less listings.
